We are happy to welcome Mariam Shahata as a new PhD Student at AIMES. This is what she says about how her research will contribute to AIMES mission to find solutions to global societal challenges:
“My studies will focus on testing new drugs to treat skin infections. Most skin infections are treated with antibiotics which bacteria are becoming increasingly resistant to, which makes these infections harder to treat. My hope for this project is to identify new compounds, which are not antibiotics, which can help us treat these infections both easier and faster for the patients.”
