Tissue Microbiology is an approach we have pioneered in which we can study how infection progresses in the context of the living tissue. Our aim now is to harness these responses to enable alternative therapeutic approaches to control bacterial infection in the face of increasing antibiotic resistance.
To facilitate translation between basic and clinical research we are developing humanised models for bacterial infection which allow us to study host- pathogen interaction in living human tissue.
Vi vill nå längre med våra ambitioner att skapa fysiologiskt relevanta in vitro modeller genom centrets integration av tekniska och medicinska kompetenser.
Novel technologies will help us harness the immense potential of good bacterial biofilms, diagnose biofilm infections, and eradicate them when not wanted.
For innovation, collaboration is not optional anymore – and the center is a hotbed for cross fertility in the ever-evolving research field of nanobiotechnology.
Our research combines electrochemical methods with biotechnology and materials engineering to address challenges in human health. We develop new novel medical technologies for better and healthier life.
Our work enables us to discover bottom-up strategies for recovery and valorization of biomacromolecules by interdisciplinary action in polymer science and biomedicine.
To implement our research within novel scientific areas, as well as be able to conduct multidisciplinary science with the aim of translating our research into clinical settings.

Målet är att ytterligare bredda vår tvärvetenskapliga grundläggande och tillämpande forskningsverksamhet mot toxikologiska vetenskaper.
