We are happy to welcome Hongji Yan as Team Leader at AIMES!
His highly multidisciplinary research, which involves basic science, innovation, and societal use, is well aligned with the purpose of our center. We are proud that our environment can contribute and be a part of the advancement of his research.
Hongji holds a position at, and lead his research group from, MCB Medical Cell Biology Department at Uppsala University. His group develops bio inspired functional hydrogels that can lubricate the epithelium and prevent infection. As such it can be used to construct advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) for transplantation and regenerative medicine, as well as nanosensors that can be used to detect single-stranded DNA or RNA sequences.
